1] TRAVEL
TRAVELLING TO CYPRUS:
Cyprus is a full member state of the United Nations and the European Union (EU). Despite that the whole of Cyprus is in the EU, the northern part of Cyprus is illegally occupied by Turkey. Cyprus or EU laws do not apply in the Turkish occupied areas.
There are two international airports in Cyprus namely Larnaca airport, which is the major airport and Paphos airport. Larnaca airport is about 1.5 hours and Paphos airport 0.2 hours from the conference venue respectively.
Cyprus can be reached by direct daily flights from most European and Middle East countries and the UK. There are several daily flights to Cyprus from Athens and London, which can be used as connecting flights by those travelling from other continents than Europe.
TRAVELLING IN CYPRUS:
The hotel can be reached by bus, taxi or hired car from Paphos and Larnaca airports.
Regular daily bus service is available from the airports. The bus route from Paphos airport includes the venue hotel and stops outside the hotel on request. There is a bus route from Larnaca airport to Paphos airport and from there another bus to the hotel or a different bus at the central bus stop in Paphos including a stop in Limassol The cost of the bus route from Larnaca is under 20 euros and from Paphos airport under 5 euros
Participants who will prefer their own transport, they can use either a taxi or hire a car from the airport. Taxis are the main form of transport in Cyprus. Taxi offices are located just outside the airports of Larnaca and Paphos operating non stop-24 hours and could be used for the transfers between the airport and the hotel, which will cost approximately 120 euros from Larnaca and 50 euros from Paphos airports for up to 4 persons. The same applies for the transportation from the hotel to the airport. A share taxi line service is also available during the daytime, which can be used from the cities to Larnaca airport, which costs about 30 euros per passenger.
2] TOURS
Several excursions have been arranged before and after the conference depending on the number of interested participants. Details of the tours will be available at the registration desk and the hotel. Please indicate your interest for participating in the tours.
3] CURRENCY
Cyprus is a full member state of the European Union and the Euro is adopted as the official currency. Participants with other currencies should note that money can be exchanged in the banks at the airport and at the hotel at any time and also in the banks during official opening hours (8.30-13.30) at the weekdays. Banks are not open during the weekend.
4] INSURANCE
Insurance coverage for travel, health and goods is the responsibility of the participants and the organisers have no liability. Participants are advised to have insurance coverage before arrival.
5] WEATHER
The average temperature in November is about 15-23 degrees Centigrade
